Where to practice Yoga on Koh Lipe nowadays?

Hi there and thank you for dropping by!

This is a question that we receive from our Guests quite often. They mention that practicing Yoga during their holiday will contribute positively to that already blissful Holiday experience on Koh Lipe.

Back in the days (like 2012) we used to have our Koh Lipe resident Yoga teacher visiting us everyday for Sunrise Yoga. Unfortunately he moved on and we have not yet been able to get in touch with another Yoga teacher that has enough time in their schedule to set Sunrise Yoga classes at Lipe Beach Resort.

Since it stays such a popular topic among our Guests and mentioning that now it is actually more "necessary than ever" with statistics showing that the worlds working force is working harder, for longer hours and are more productive than ever before. So we want to play our part by offering you easily available alternatives outside of the unfortunately no longer existing Yoga classes at Lipe Beach Resort.

We have good news for all of you seeking to participate in Yoga classes during your stay on Koh Lipe and/or at Lipe Beach Resoert. Since this year there is a really great Yoga teacher with her own Yoga Studio just a few minute (warm-up) walk away from our resort.

Dear Guests,

Please meet Miss Keira:

Keira is the founder of Keiritas Yoga on Koh Lipe and she actually built her studio throughout the low season. In addition to the classes in the Studio she also offers Yoga classes in the open air. Have a look for yourself:

With almost a decade of experience teaching Yoga to a global audience and being a registered yoga teacher with the worldwide Yoga Alliance we are very comfortable in stating that when you are about to practise Yoga on Koh Lipe you will be in excellent company with Keira.

She teaches Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga which brings awareness into mindfulness and energy flow.

Keira has been practicing yoga for over 16 years. She has completed two teacher trainings:

1. With the Yoga institute in Santa Cruz in Mumbai, India under Yogandraji.
2. With It’s Yoga San Francisco under the well renowed Larry Schultz.

We found Keira to be very passionate about life, yoga and traveling.

If you are interested simply get in touch with reaching out by shooting her an EMAIL, there is a special discount for Lipe Beach Resort Guests :)

In case you have any questions for us regarding your stay on Koh Lipe, our Hotel / Resort or on for example how to get to Koh Lipe feel free to visit our WEBSITE for more information or send us an EMAIL

We hope that this blog post about Yoga on Koh Lipe can assist you in finding that great Yoga teacher and studio on Koh Lipe.

2016 - New Garden Rooms!

After years and years of providing  basic shelter to our more budget concerned Guests they are now definitely gone. We are now in the midst of finalizing the new rooms located on row 4 and 5. Just behind the Premium Garden Bungalows. We will update our website www.lipebeachresort.com soon (midst of September this will be completed) so in order to give you a good idea of what those new rooms are all about we thought it would be a good idea to post some more information and pictures for you on our blog.

                    1. The new Garden Room Fan exterior:
Compared to the Bamboo Garden Rooms the built and finishing is far more superior and comfortable. Quite the sturdy setup. With a little porch outside for you to relax and located within less than 2 minutes to our beach.

                2. The new Garden Room Fan interior:

Since this room does not have air-conditioning we thought it might be a good idea to put in a lot of windows. With its Four Poster Double bed and Mosquito net you will be able to sleep through the night like a baby. Of course there is a powerful Wall-mounted Fan at your disposal as many of our Guests actually prefer to sleep with the windows closed, something we actually endorse. Furthermore you can hang and store some of your clothes and there is a small wall mounted table where you can store items as well.

                     3. The new Garden Room Fan bathroom:

No more sandy feet and difficult steps on stones and rocks to take like was the case with the Bamboo Garden Rooms. Besides a good size sink and large size mirror we have also added a western toilet you can flush without using a bucket :). The shower provides fresh but cold water.

              4. The new Garden Room Fan interior:

With large opening windows and the wall mounted fan you'll have a comfortable stay during the day letting that sea breeze flow gently through your room. Make sure you have some mosquito repellent with you. It is no secret that there are quite the few mosquitoes on Koh Lipe and we just reinstate this for you to prepare.

For more information you can CHAT with us (or simply leave a message when we are not around), send us and EMAIL (bookings@lipebeachresort.com) or go ahead and complete your reservation with us by BOOKING ONLINE.

Thank you for taking the time reading this blog post! We hope to see you soon on beautiful Koh Lipe, Thailand at Lipe Beach Resort.

Its Low Season, what to do on Koh Lipe?

Well actually for the 3th year in a row June, July and August have been nothing less than absolutely beautiful! The weather conditions were just perfect almost everyday. We have seen the most beautiful and content smiles on Guest's their faces this year again. We were just thinking it might have something to do with this scenic image we shot on the 1st of July 2016. The picture below is taken directly on Sunrise Beach in front of Lipe Beach Resort.

One of the all time favorite activities still remains, doing nothing all day but lazying around our Beach and the Elephant Beach Bar and Restaurant that Lipe Beach Resort operates.

The reason why we write this blog post about what to do in Koh Lipe during Low Season comes from the many questions we receive regarding this topic. And yes indeed, honestly there isn't as much to do on Koh Lipe during Low Season compared to High Season. Certain Bars, Restaurants, Resorts / Hotels / Hostels, Snorkeling spots in National Park, Dive Shops and Travel Agents will indeed be closed.

Lipe Beach Resort will be open all year round and from what we have understood more and more restaurants and bars will be open year round. We dont visit all of the bars and restaurants on Koh Lipe but the ones listed below we do :) and they will be open year round:
  1. Make sure you check out OMG! Sport Bar which is actually one of the places on Koh Lipe we have been recommending for years. P' O is a great host, his food is awesome and he always has a cool team of staff!

  2. If you are in Walking-street during evening hours Rainforest is another great bar to visit! Located right in the middle of Walkingstreet it is easy to find. They get pretty busy all year round and not without a reason. The staff is great, beer ice cold, cocktails stronger than on average, a not very extensive but very tasty menu and all that for very tolerable prices! Just like P' O from OMG P' Mang is great host as well.

  3. When you are looking for special cocktails and a variety of shooters go to Sawasdee Bar a really cool bar also located on Walking Street. It looks a bit like the typical Thai Reggae Bar but then version 2.0. P' Pom is a great host, his cocktails are considered beyond wonderful by many and most of the time they stay open until LATE :). They do however not serve any food.
Besides going out for drinks and food Koh Lipe offers pretty good diving during Low Season, the following Dive Schools are to our knowledge open year round:
  • Adang Sea Divers, located just a few minutes away from Lipe Beach Resort and your perfect stroll over the beach actually.
  • Satun Dive, also located just a few minutes away from Lipe Beach Resort and again your perfect stroll over the beach actually.
  • Forra Diving - Day Trips, located right next to Lipe Beach Resort .
Especially on the Scuba Diving on Koh Lipe subject we get a lot of questions with the most popular one being "Which Dive School do you recommend?" and our feedback will always be NONE. You should really put a bit of time and effort in finding the right one yourself. That said, we would go diving with those 3 shops listed above any given sunny day :).

And again there is so much more you can do, snorkeling off the beach on your own or take out a Kayak. Go to Koh Adang and climb all the way up to viewpoint 3, walk to Sunset Beach and hang out there for a few hours.

One should always keep in mind that Koh Lipe is also the perfect place for those who just wanna do nothing for a few days. And in that case we, at Lipe Beach Resort can most definitely assist you in that:

Did we miss out on mentioning any cool things-to-do, good restaurants & bar's, dive shop and so forth? Feel free to comment below. For questions regarding reservations etc kindly email us at bookings@lipebeachresort.com and we will get back to you asap!

Those Bamboo Days are over....

Hi there,
If you’re reading this post, chances are good that you have already already stayed with us at Lipe Beach Resort or you are intending to do so.

We would like to start this post with a huge, heartfelt thank you. Many of our Guests have been staying with us in the Bamboo Rooms on the beautiful Sunrise Beach on Koh Lipe for many nights since we first started; things were certainly different almost a decade ago!
Lipe Beach Resort and Koh Lipe as a whole were less mature or "sophisticated" in many many ways. Look at this which is just an example of our humble beginnings:

It is hard to explain how much we appreciate your support and loyalty from the early days onward and how excited we are to be where we are today. Moving forward we have collected some feedback that made us aware that the Bamboo Rooms are no longer living up the expectations that our Guests seek nowadays. So with a little tear in our eyes we have decided to let go of them. We might keep one around to respect our Heritage :)

So right now we are in the process of building a more comfortable but still island authentic type of Bungalow that we hope will be the perfect match and future Guest expectations.
